İgnarus Topluluğu'nun kökleri kabile dönemine kadar uzanmaktadır. Topluluk, Kabile Dönemi sırasında Nulmar Kabilesi adıyla bir kinyum arazisinde ortaya çıkmıştır. Nulmar Kabilesi'nin yerleşke olarak seçtiği bu arazi; yıllar boyunca maruz kaldığı kinyum etkisi sayesinde insan yaşamı için gerekli olan her kaynağa sahip, ideal bir ekosisteme dönüşmüştür.
Bu ideal ekosistem içerisinde soylar boyunca yaşayan Nulmar Kabilesi, hiçbir zaman hayatta kalmak adına mücadele vermek zorunda kalmamıştır. Bu "lüks" yaşam standartları sayesinde kabile fertleri; odaklarını sanat, felsefe ve bilim gibi medeni hususlara yöneltebilmişlerdir. Bu alanlara duyulan ilgi o kadar yüksektir ki zaman geçtikçe vücutları ve zihinleri bu uğraşlara adapte olmaya başlar. İçinde bulundukları kinyum arazisi nedeniyle Nulmar Kabilesi, yavaş yavaş yoğun kinyum etkisine maruz kalır.
Kinyum maddesinin bu etkisi nesiller boyu devam ederek kabile fertlerini kinyum evrimine sokar. Bu evrimle birlikte kabile fertlerinin hatırlama, kavramlaştırma ve algılama gibi zihinsel özellikleri insanüstü düzeye ulaşır. Fakat kabile fertleri, geçirdikleri evrimin tamamen zihne odaklanması sebebiyle fiziksel olarak oldukça zayıflamaya başlarlar. Hastalıklara karşı bağışıklıkları azalmış, kemikleri oldukça kırılgan hale gelmiş ve derileri incelerek kolayca hasar görebilecek bir yapıya bürünmüştür.
Fiziksel olarak ne kadar geri kalmış olsalar da kabile fertleri, sahip oldukları ideal ekosistem sayesinde sorunsuzca hayatlarını idame ettirebilmişlerdir; ta ki çevre kabileler tarafından fark edilene kadar.
Kabile Dönemi'nin sonlarına doğru kabileler, kendi topraklarından dışarıya açılarak daha iyi yaşam koşulları aramaya başlamışlardı. Bu arayışlar sırasında dış dünya ile herhangi bir bağlantısı bulunmayan Nulmar Kabilesi, çevre kabileler tarafından keşfedildi.
Herhangi bir askeri gücü bulunmayan Nulmar Kabilesi, kendisini keşfeden ve kaynaklarından pay isteyen kabileler karşısında çaresiz kalmıştı. Topraklarına istila amacıyla gelen neredeyse her kabileye kaynaklarının çoğunluğunu vermek zorunda kalıyorlardı. Yaşadıkları kinyum arazisi sayesinde kaynakları boldu ancak sınırsız değildi. Çok geçmeden hayatları karşılığında istilacılara sundukları kaynaklar tükenmeye başladı.
İstilacılar yeniden kaynak alma amacıyla geldiklerinde, Nulmar Kabilesi'nin onlara sunabileceği hiçbir şey kalmamıştı. Bunun üzerine istilacılar, Nulmar Kabilesi'ni kendi topraklarında katletmeye başladılar. Amaçları açıktı: Kaynaklara ulaşamıyorlarsa toprakların kendisine el koyacaklardı.
Nulmar fertleri dehşet içerisinde katliamdan kaçmaya çalıştılar ancak zayıf fiziksel yapıları buna izin vermiyordu. Dakikalar içerisinde onlarca kabile ferdi hayatını vahşice kaybetti. Bu yıkım, Nulmar Kabilesi'nin en bilge kişisi olarak bilinen İgnarus Hoktanir'in kaçmayı bırakıp istilacılara hitaben konuşmaya başlamasına kadar sürdü.
İgnarus'un yaptığı konuşma oldukça garipti. O konuştukça daha fazla istilacı ona kulak vermeye başlıyor, hatta bazıları ona hak vererek saldırıyı durdurmaları adına diğerlerine sesleniyordu. İgnarus'un konuşması sona erdiğinde istilacılar sadece katliama son vermekle kalmamış, aynı zamanda Nulmar Kabilesi ile bir anlaşmaya varma kararı almışlardı. Bu durum karşısında şaşkına dönen kabile fertleri, açıklama yapması adına İgnarus Hoktanir'in etrafında toplandılar.
İgnarus Hoktanir, onlara insanların da hayvanlar gibi birer hayatta kalma mekanizmasına sahip olduğunu anlattı. Ancak insanın bu mekanizması hayvanlarınkinden oldukça farklıydı. Hayvanlar hayatta kalma mekanizmalarına fiziksel olarak uyum sağlarken, insanlar kendi mekanizmalarını düşünce biçimlerine entegre ediyorlardı. Buna dayanarak; karşılarındaki insanın hayatta kalma mekanizmasını üstün zekalarını kullanarak çözebilirlerse, bu mekanizma o kişiyi manipüle etmek için güçlü bir araca dönüştürülebilirdi.
İgnarus, bu temelleri aktarmasının ardından kabile fertlerine "İgnarus Yöntemleri" adı verilecek teknikleri kullanabilmeleri için eğitim vermeye başladı. Yapılan tartışmaların ardından Nulmar Kabilesi, İgnarus Yöntemleri'nin zorunlu haller dışında kullanılmasını yasaklamaya karar verdi.
İgnarus Yöntemleri'nin yaygınlaşmasının ardından Nulmar Kabilesi, kendine tehlike teşkil eden her istilacıyı zayiat vermeden püskürtmeyi başardı. İstilacılarla kurulan bu zorunlu iletişimler sırasında kabile fertleri kritik bir gerçeği fark ettiler: Topraklarına yağma amacıyla gelenlerin zihinsel özellikleri, kendilerininkine kıyasla oldukça kısıtlıydı. Bunun nedenini merak eden kabile, yoğun bir araştırma sürecine girdi.
18 yıl süren araştırmaların sonucunda Nulmar Kabilesi, içinde yaşadıkları ekosistemin ve zihinsel üstünlüklerinin kaynağı olan kinyum maddesini keşfetti. Bu keşifle beraber Nulmar Kabilesi, dünya tarihinde kinyum maddesini bir inanca bağlı kalmadan tanımlayan ve sınırlarını çizen ilk topluluk oldu. Bu gelişmenin ardından kabile, kinyum maddesini kendi refah düzeyini artırmak adına kullanmaya başladı.
Refah düzeylerinin zirveye ulaşması ve İgnarus Yöntemleri'ne duyulan ihtiyacın azalmasıyla birlikte Nulmar Kabilesi, kinyum maddesini dönemin gelişmiş toplulukları ile paylaşma kararı aldı. Amaçları, kendi refahlarını tüm insanlığa ulaştırmaktı.
Bu ideali gerçekleştirmek adına kabile, aralarından en ileri gelenleri dış dünyaya elçi olarak yolladı. Bu elçilere, medeni düzeyleri kendilerine yakın topluluklara ulaşıp kinyumdan bahsetme görevi verildi. Elçiler şenliklerle uğurlandı.
Aradan haftalar geçti ancak elçilerden haber alınamadı. Sonunda gönderilen onlarca kişiden sadece bir tanesi geri dönebildi. Geri dönen elçinin yüzünde donuk bir ifade vardı ve ağzını bıçak açmıyordu. Günler sonra kendine gelen elçi, dış dünyada şahit olduğu vahşeti anlatmaya başladı.
Elçi, gittikleri her toplumun acımasız inançlar tarafından ele geçirildiğini söyledi. Bu inançlar halklarına işkence ediyor, onları köle olarak kullanıyor ve inanç dışı doğanları hayvan gibi görerek pazarlıyordu. Elçiler bu toplulukların liderleriyle görüştüğünde, daha sözlerini bitiremeden kafir ilan edilmiş ve öğretileri bilimle destekledikleri için vahşice katledilmişlerdi. Kendisinin hayatta kalabilmesinin tek nedeni ise İgnarus Yöntemleri'ni kullanmış olmasıydı. Elçinin iddialarına göre insan hayatının değeri, Nulmar topraklarından çıkıldığı anda yok oluyordu.
Geri dönebilen tek elçinin iddiaları Nulmar Kabilesi'ni büyük bir ayrılığa düşürdü. Bir taraf elçiyi haklı bularak İgnarus Yöntemleri'nin geliştirilmesi gerektiğini savunurken; diğer taraf dış dünyada hala umut olduğunu, sadece daha fazla keşfe ihtiyaç duyulduğunu düşünüyordu.
Aylar süren tartışmaların ardından dış dünyaya inanan grup, medeniyeti tüm insanlığa sunmak amacıyla yola çıktı. Dış dünyaya açılan bu tarafın başına ne geldiği günümüzde bile bir muammadır; çünkü bir daha onlardan haber alınamadı.
Umutla yola çıkanlardan kimsenin dönmemesi üzerine geride kalanlar acı gerçeği kabul ettiler: Dış dünya medeniyeti değil, sadece daha fazla gücü amaçlıyordu ve bu uğurda her şeyi yapabilirdi. Nulmar Kabilesi, eğer hayatta kalmak istiyorsa bu dünya kadar acımasız olmalıydı. Böylece tüm kabile fertleri bir araya gelerek çalışmalarını tamamen İgnarus Yöntemleri üzerine odakladı.
Bu kararla birlikte topluluğun adı "İgnarus Topluluğu" olarak değiştirildi. Artık amaçları ne medeniyet ne de birliktelikti; tek gayeleri, hoşgörülerini zayıflık olarak gören bu dünyadan intikam almaktı.
Dünyada yeni yeni adı duyulan, kaynağı bol bir topluluk ortaya çıktı. Bu topluluktan gelen ve "arabulucu" denilen adamlar; toplumların işleyişlerini ve inanç temellerini anlatan yöneticilere, bu bilgiler karşılığında yüklü kaynaklar veya kârlı anlaşmalar sunuyordu.
Bunu duyan diğer dünya halkları, arabulucuları topraklarına davet etmeye başladı. Çok geçmeden İgnarus Topluluğu güçlü bir politik güvence kazandı. Bu dokunulmazlık sayesinde bir orduya ihtiyaç duymadan acımasız Kölelik Dönemi'ni atlatmayı başardılar ancak nihai hedefleri olan intikama henüz ulaşamamışlardı.
Relic Krallığı'nın inançlara karşı savaş ilan etmesi, İgnarus Topluluğu için büyük bir fırsattı. Ancak krallıkla anlaşma yapmadan önce onların ne kadar başarılı olabileceğini ölçmek istediler; kazandıkları politik güveni kaybedecek bir taraf için riske atmak istemiyorlardı.
Savaşın üçüncü yılı biterken Relic ordularının başarısını gören İgnarus Topluluğu sessizliğini bozdu. Relic Krallığı ile gizli bir antlaşma yaptılar. Bu gizlilik, olası bir mağlubiyette İgnarusları koruma altına alacaktı. Relic Krallığı ise inanç topraklarında serbestçe gezebilen ve bilgi toplayan zeki ajanlara (Arabuluculara) sahip olmuştu. Böylece iki taraf arasındaki yüzyıllar sürecek bağın ilk düğümü atıldı.
Savaşın sonunda iki büyük inanç yok oldu ve toprakları sahipsiz kaldı. Relic'in müttefikleri ganimet paylaşımı yüzünden birbirine düşerken; İgnarus Topluluğu, savaş boyunca ettikleri yardımların karşılığı olan vaatlerin yerine getirilmesini talep etti.
Birçok talep sorunsuz karşılansa da Santoria Krallığı, Pelagorn Koalisyonu ve köklü Zauron Topluluğu bazı imtiyazlara karşı çıktı. Yeni topluluklar kaynakla ikna edilse de Zauron gibi kadim bir toplulukla uzlaşmak zor oldu. Relic Krallığı'nın uzun uğraşları sonucu vaat edilen gizli içerikler taraflar arasında paylaşıldı. Bu süreçten karlı çıkan İgnarus Topluluğu, kendi toplumsal sistemini oldukça geliştirdi.
İgnarus toplumunda her vatandaş istediği alanda ilerleme özgürlüğüne sahiptir. Her alan, en düşüğü 1 en yükseği ise 5 olan beş kademeden oluşur. Bu kademeler bireyin statüsünü ve erişebileceği bilginin derinliğini belirler.
Diplomatik ve kültürel temas kurmakla görevli, İgnarus yöntemlerinde uzman kişilerdir. Temasları barışçıl görünse de asıl amaçları bilgi sızdırmak ve zaafları saptamaktır. İgnarus Yöntemleri'nde dış görünüş büyük bir kriter olduğu için, arabulucu adaylarının vücut yapıları ve yüzleri belirli oranlara göre cerrahi olarak değiştirilir.
Tüm dünya medeniyetlerinin tarihini araştıran kişilerdir. Onlara dünya çapında büyük bir politik özgürlük tanınır; İgnarus bağlantılı her yerleşkeye girebilir ve gerekirse tarihi eserleri araştırma amacıyla merkezlerine getirebilirler.
Bilginin doğruluğunu teyit eden ve kütüphanelerde korunmasını sağlayan kişilerdir. Görevlendirildikleri kütüphanedeki her kitabı harfi harfine bilmeleri beklenir. Kaynakları kontrol eder, dalları teftiş ederler. 5. kademeye ulaşan bir Nizamcı, diğer dallardaki kişilerin kademelerini yükseltme veya düşürme yetkisine sahip olur; ancak bu yetkiyi kullanmak için kendi kademesindeki diğer Nizamcıların onayını alması şarttır.
Bu 5 dal sayesinde İgnarus Topluluğu, hak edenin yükseldiği oldukça adaletli ve oturaklı bir sistem kurmuştur.
The roots of the Ignarus Community extend back to the tribal period. The community emerged during the Tribal Period as the Nulmar Tribe on a kinyum-rich territory. The land the Nulmar Tribe chose as their settlement had, through years of exposure to kinyum's influence, transformed into an ideal ecosystem possessing every resource necessary for human life.
Living within this ideal ecosystem for generations, the Nulmar Tribe never had to struggle for survival. Thanks to these "luxurious" living standards, the tribe's members were able to turn their focus to civilized pursuits such as art, philosophy, and science. Their interest in these fields was so great that over time their bodies and minds began to adapt to these endeavors. Because of the kinyum territory they inhabited, the Nulmar Tribe was gradually exposed to intense kinyum influence.
This effect of the kinyum substance continued for generations, drawing the tribe's members into kinyum evolution. With this evolution, their mental traits—memory, conceptualization, and perception—reached superhuman levels. Yet because their evolution was focused entirely on the mind, the tribe's members began to weaken physically. Their immunity to disease decreased, their bones became brittle, and their skin thinned until it could be easily damaged.
However far they had fallen behind physically, the tribe's members were able to sustain their lives without trouble thanks to their ideal ecosystem—until they were discovered by the surrounding tribes.
Toward the end of the Tribal Period, tribes had begun to venture beyond their own lands in search of better living conditions. During these searches, the Nulmar Tribe, which had no connection to the outside world, was discovered by neighboring tribes.
The Nulmar Tribe, which had no military strength, was helpless before the tribes that had found them and were demanding a share of their resources. They were forced to give away most of their resources to nearly every tribe that came to their lands with the aim of invasion. Thanks to the kinyum territory they lived on, their resources were abundant but not unlimited. Before long, the resources they had offered the invaders in exchange for their lives began to run out.
When the invaders returned to take more resources, the Nulmar Tribe had nothing left to offer them. Thereupon the invaders began to slaughter the Nulmar Tribe on their own land. Their aim was clear: if they could not obtain the resources, they would take the land itself.
The Nulmar people tried to flee the massacre in terror, but their weak physical constitutions would not allow it. Within minutes, dozens of tribespeople had lost their lives brutally. This destruction continued until Ignarus Hoktanir, known as the wisest of the Nulmar Tribe, stopped fleeing and began to address the invaders.
Ignarus's speech was most peculiar. The more he spoke, the more invaders began to listen to him; some even sided with him and called on the others to halt the attack. When Ignarus finished speaking, the invaders had not only ended the massacre but had also decided to reach an agreement with the Nulmar Tribe. Stunned by this turn of events, the tribespeople gathered around Ignarus Hoktanir to hear his explanation.
Ignarus Hoktanir explained to them that humans, like animals, possessed a survival mechanism. Yet the human mechanism was quite different from that of animals. While animals adapted to their survival mechanisms physically, humans integrated their own into their way of thinking. Based on this, if they could use their superior intellect to decipher the survival mechanism of the person before them, that mechanism could be turned into a powerful tool to manipulate that person.
After conveying these foundations, Ignarus began to train the tribespeople in the techniques that would come to be called the "Ignarus Methods." These methods provided a people as physically weak as the Nulmar Tribe with a serious "power to resist." In those days, however useful the Ignarus Methods were, they were met with opposition by some tribespeople who found them unethical. These members argued that the methods should only be used in life-threatening situations. After the debates, the Nulmar Tribe decided to forbid the use of the Ignarus Methods except in cases of necessity.
After the Ignarus Methods spread, the Nulmar Tribe succeeded in repelling every invader that threatened them without suffering casualties. During these forced exchanges with invaders, the tribespeople noticed a critical truth: the mental capacities of those who came to plunder their lands were far more limited than their own. Wondering why this was so, the tribe entered a period of intense research.
After 18 years of research, the Nulmar Tribe discovered the kinyum substance, the source of both the ecosystem they lived in and their mental superiority. With this discovery, the Nulmar Tribe became the first community in world history to define kinyum and chart its boundaries without binding it to any faith. After this development, the tribe began to use the kinyum substance to raise their own standard of welfare.
With their welfare at its peak and the need for the Ignarus Methods diminishing, the Nulmar Tribe decided to share the kinyum substance with the advanced communities of the era. Their aim was to extend their own welfare to all humanity.
To realize this ideal, the tribe sent their most distinguished members abroad as envoys. These envoys were given the task of reaching communities whose level of civilization was close to their own and speaking to them of kinyum. The envoys were sent off with festivities.
Weeks passed but no word came from the envoys. In the end, only one of the dozens sent was able to return. The returning envoy's face bore a blank expression and he would not open his mouth. Days later, when he had recovered, the envoy began to tell of the savagery he had witnessed in the outside world.
The envoy said that every society they had visited had been seized by ruthless faiths. These faiths tortured their people, used them as slaves, and treated those born outside the faith like animals, trading them. When the envoys met with the leaders of these communities, they were declared heretics before they could finish speaking and were brutally slain for supporting their teachings with science. The only reason he himself had survived was that he had used the Ignarus Methods. According to the envoy, the value of human life vanished the moment one left Nulmar territory.
The claims of the single envoy who had been able to return threw the Nulmar Tribe into a great schism. One side believed the envoy and argued that the Ignarus Methods must be developed; the other believed there was still hope in the outside world and that only more exploration was needed.
After months of debate, the group that believed in the outside world set out to bring civilization to all humanity. What befell this side that opened to the world remains a mystery to this day, for no word was ever heard from them again.
When none of those who had set out with hope returned, those who had stayed behind accepted the bitter truth: the outside world did not seek civilization but only more power, and would do anything to obtain it. If the Nulmar Tribe wished to survive, they had to be as merciless as this world. Thus all the tribespeople came together and focused their work entirely on the Ignarus Methods.
With this decision, the community's name was changed to the "Ignarus Community." Their aim was no longer civilization or unity; their sole purpose was to take revenge on a world that saw their tolerance as weakness.
A community with abundant resources, whose name was only beginning to be heard in the world, had emerged. The men from this community known as "mediators" offered rulers who would explain the workings of societies and the foundations of faiths substantial resources or profitable agreements in exchange for this information.
When other peoples of the world heard of this, they began to invite the mediators to their lands. Before long the Ignarus Community had gained powerful political immunity. Thanks to this inviolability, they managed to weather the brutal Slavery Period without needing an army—yet they had not yet reached their ultimate goal of revenge.
The Relic Kingdom's declaration of war on the faiths was a great opportunity for the Ignarus Community. But before making an agreement with the kingdom, they wanted to gauge how successful it could be; they did not wish to risk the political immunity they had gained on a losing side.
As the war's third year drew to a close, the Ignarus Community broke its silence upon seeing the success of the Relic armies. They made a secret treaty with the Relic Kingdom. This secrecy would protect the Ignarus in case of defeat. The Relic Kingdom, for its part, had gained intelligent agents (the Mediators) who could move freely through faith territories and gather information. Thus the first knot was tied in a bond between the two that would last for centuries.
At the end of the war, two great faiths had been destroyed and their lands left ownerless. While Relic's allies fell out over the division of the spoils, the Ignarus Community demanded that the promises made in return for their aid during the war be fulfilled.
Although many of these demands were met without issue, the Santoria Kingdom, the Pelagorn Coalition, and the longstanding Zauron Community opposed certain concessions. While the newer communities were persuaded with resources, it was difficult to come to terms with an ancient community like Zauron. After long efforts by the Relic Kingdom, the promised confidential contents were shared among the parties. The Ignarus Community emerged from this process having greatly developed its own social system.
In Ignarus society, every citizen has the freedom to advance in the field of their choice. Each field consists of five tiers, the lowest being 1 and the highest 5. These tiers determine the individual's status and the depth of information they can access.
Experts in the Ignarus methods who are tasked with establishing diplomatic and cultural contact. Though their contacts may appear peaceful, their true aim is to extract information and identify weaknesses. Because outward appearance is a major criterion in the Ignarus Methods, the body structures and faces of mediator candidates are surgically altered according to specific proportions.
Those who research the history of all the world's civilizations. They are granted great political freedom worldwide; they may enter any settlement connected to Ignarus and may bring historical artifacts to their centers for research when necessary.
Those who verify the accuracy of knowledge and ensure its preservation in libraries. They are expected to know every book in the library they are assigned to letter for letter. For this demanding task they use the "mind library" system; they recall information through virtual spaces they place in their minds. Academics classify information into the following tiers:
Scientists who aim to raise the level of civilization through experimentation. As their tier rises, they gain the authority to conduct experiments in more dangerous areas. The results they obtain are evaluated at no less than Tier 3 information status.
Auditors who ensure the functioning and order of society. They control resources and inspect the branches. A Regulator who reaches Tier 5 has the authority to raise or lower the tiers of persons in other branches; however, to use this authority they must obtain the approval of other Regulators at their own tier.
Thanks to these five branches, the Ignarus Community has established a highly just and stable system in which the deserving rise.
