Tharum Çölü'nün yakınlarında ilk halkına ulaşan Gildemar Kabilesi, normal kabilelere göre farklı bir yapıya sahipti. Gildemar Kabilesi, birçok farklı ailenin bir araya gelmesiyle oluşturulmuştu. Aileler ne kadar bir araya gelerek bir kabile oluşturmuş olsa da birbirlerine karşı sorumluluğa sahip değillerdi. Ailelerin sorumlu olduğu kişiler sadece kendi topraklarına aldıkları kişilerdi. Bu ailelerin kabile olarak sorumlulukları olası saldırılarda ortak bir savunma yapmak ve diğer ailelere karşı savaş açmamaktı. Bu iki husus dışında her ailenin kendi çıkarını gözetmesi oldukça normal karşılanan bir durumdu.
Gildemar Kabilesi'ni oluşturan ailelerin yaşamlarını idame ettirebilmek için seçtikleri yöntemler oldukça çeşitliydi. Bu çeşitlilik sayesinde aileler zayıf oldukları alanlarda kendilerini geliştirebilmek adına diğer aileler ile ticaret yapabiliyorlardı. Aileler arasında sıkça karşılaşılan bu ticaret sayesinde Gildemar Kabilesi; ticaret mantığı, ticaret kültürü ve borç mantığı gibi birçok konuda kendini oldukça geliştirebilmişti.
Gildemar Kabilesi'ni oluşturan aileler arasından en ileri çıkan aile olan Lanor Ailesi, inanılmaz büyüklükte baharat tarlalarına sahipti. Bu tarlalarda karabiber, tarçın ve zencefil gibi yetiştirilmesi oldukça zor olan değerli baharatlar bulunuyordu. Lanor Ailesi, diğer ailelerden bu baharatları nasıl yetiştirildiği bilgisini saklayarak baharatlarının değerini katbekat artırıyordu. Fakat Lanor Ailesi'nin ünü sadece Gildemar Kabilesi ile kısıtlı değildi. Lanor Ailesi, baharatlarını satabilmek adına kendi topraklarından kilometrelerce uzakta bulunan diğer topluluklara gidiyor, orada baharatlarını çok daha yüksek fiyatlara satabiliyordu. Sadece satmakla kalmıyor aynı zamanda bu baharatların şifa getirdiğini söyleyerek baharatlarının kutsal şeyler olduğu izlenimini insanlarda oluşturuyorlardı.
Lanor Ailesi, benimsedikleri bu ticari yöntemleriyle Kabile Dönemi'nin en zengin ailelerinden birisi haline gelmişti.
Kölelik Dönemi'ne gelindiğinde Lanor Ailesi, büyük bir kriz ile karşı karşıyaydı. İnançların güç kazanmasıyla dünyaya güçlü bir korku hali yayılmıştı ve onlar da bu korku halinden nasibini almıştı. Gildemar Kabilesi, coğrafi konumu sayesinde inançların hedefi olmaktan kurtulmuştu. Fakat aynısı ticari yolları için geçerli değildi. Lanor Ailesi'nin Kabile Dönemi boyunca işler hale sokmak için uğraştığı ticari yollar dünyada hakimiyetini artıran inançlar yüzünden oldukça tehlikeli bir hal almıştı. İnsanlar artık inançların topraklarından geçen bu yolları kullanmaktan korkuyorlardı. Aynı zamanda Gildemar Kabilesi içerisinde aynı Lanor Ailesi gibi baharat tarımının püf noktasını çözen aileler ortaya çıkmıştı. Lanor Ailesi, hem dışarıya bağlantıları olan ticari yollarını hem de kendi kabileleri içerisinde sahip oldukları statüyü kaybetmişti.
Lanor Ailesi, içinde bulunduğu çöküşü durdurmak adına hayati risk barındıran bir plan kurdu. Lanor Ailesi'nin o zamanki lideri Ordelius Lanor, kendi kurduğu bu planı bizzat kendisinin işleteceğini söyleyerek yola koyuldu. Gittiği yer o zamanlarda inanılmaz büyük bir güce sahip olan Aeterna İnancı'ydı. Ordelius Aeterna İnancı'nın topraklarına vardığında tutsak olarak alındı. Fakat Lanor Ailesi'nin Kabile Dönemi boyunca oluşturduğu ün sayesinde inancın ileri gelenlerinin dikkatini çekmeyi başararak konuşma fırsatına erişebildi.
Ordelius, Aeterna İnancı'ndan ileri gelen kişilere Lanor Ailesi'nin teklifini iletti. Lanor Ailesi, ticari yollarının Aeterna İnancı tarafından korunması karşılığında ellerinde bulundurdukları altından daha değerli kabul edilen yüksek miktarda baharatı oldukça düşük fiyata onlara satacağını söyledi. Aeterna İnancı'nın ileri gelen kişileri bu kurnazca teklifi kabul ederek Lanor Ailesi'nin ticari yollarını himayeleri altına almaya karar verdi.
Ordelius, yolculuğundan kazançlı şekilde dönerek ailesine kabileleri içerisinde baharat tarımı yapan her ailenin tüm hasatlarını satın almalarını emretti. Satın alınan tüm baharatları tekrardan kullanıma açılan ticari yollar aracılığıyla Aeterna İnancı'na göndermeye başladılar. Sattıkları yüklü miktarda baharat karşılığında altın ve köleler aldılar. Aeterna İnancı, düşük fiyata sahip olduğu baharatı diğer topluluklara uçuk fiyatlara satarak servetini katlarca artırmıştı. Lanor Ailesi ise kabilelerine geri döndüklerinde diğer ailelerin sahip olduğu baharat tarlalarını yüksek fiyatlardan satın alarak baharat üretimini aynı Kabile Dönemi'nde olduğu gibi tekelleştirmişlerdi.
Lanor Ailesi, baharat üretimini tamamen kendi denetimi altına almasıyla birlikte her hasat döneminde neredeyse bir krallık kurabilecek kadar büyük bir servete ulaşmıştı. Ancak aile, bir krallığın yalnızca altınla inşa edilemeyeceğinin farkındaydı. Bu nedenle sahip oldukları zenginliği doğrudan güç elde etmekten ziyade, uzun vadeli politik bağlar kurmak için bir araç olarak kullanmaya başladılar.
Bu amaç doğrultusunda yıllarını diplomasiye ve ittifak ağları kurmaya adayan Lanor Ailesi, zamanla tarihteki ilk banka yapısını ve bankacılık mantığını geliştirdi. Kurdukları bu sistem aracılığıyla, çıkan savaşlarda taraflara mali destek sağlamaya başladılar. Savaş sona erip kazanan belli olduğunda ise verdikleri borçların karşılığını altın ya da toprak olarak almak yerine, siyasi itibar ve politik destek olarak talep ettiler.
Böylece Lanor Ailesi, kendisine borçlu olan toplulukların sadakatini ve desteğini kazanarak gelecekte kuracağı krallığın siyasi ve ekonomik temelini atmış oldu.
Sahip oldukları servete rağmen bu serveti koruyacak nitelikte bir askeri güce sahip olmayan Lanor Ailesi, kuracağı krallığın ordularını ihanetleri ile ünlenmiş paralı askerler ile oluşturamayacağının farkındaydı. Bu yüzden bir arayış içerisine girdiler. Bu arayışları onları kendi coğrafyalarında yaşayan ve yerleşik hayatı bulundukları dönemde bile reddetmiş olan Karn Süvarileri'ne yöneltmişti. Bu süvariler yaşamlarını çoğunlukla Lanor Ailesi'ne ait olan kervanları ve yerleşkeleri yağmalayarak idame ettiriyorlardı. Fakat Aeterna İnancı'nın ticari yolları koruması altına almasıyla Karn Süvarileri açlık çekmeye başlamışlardı.
Lanor Ailesi, bu durumu kendi lehine kullanabilmek adına Karn Süvarileri ile iletişime geçti. Açlık yüzünden haftalardır acı çeken ve bu sebeple geleneklerinden gün geçtikçe uzaklaşan Karn Süvarileri, Lanor Ailesi'nin sunduğu yerleşik hayata geçme teklifini kabul etti. Böylece gelecekte Lanor Ailesi tarafından kurulacak olan Gildemar Krallığı, ana ordu birimleri olan Gildemar Süvarileri'ne sahip oldu.
Gildemar Süvarileri'nin inandığı tanrı, Asirun Mitolojisi'nde yer alan savaş tanrısı Karn'dır. Hayatlarını bütünüyle ona adamış olan bu topluluk, varlıklarını sürekli olarak yeni kurbanlar aramaya adayarak sürdürür. Gelenekleri ve savaş alanındaki vahşiliklerinden kaynaklanan korku unsurlarıyla öne çıkan Gildemar Süvarileri, oldukça sıra dışı ritüellere sahiptir. Öldürdükleri insanların kanlarını kendi ornitorlarına sürer, kanın kırmızısı ile ornitorların sarı tüylerinin birleşmesinden oluşan iğrenç bir yeşil renkle bineklerini süslerler. Bu renk, onlar için hem zaferin hem de adanmışlığın simgesidir.
Adlarında "süvari" kelimesi geçmesine rağmen, ordularının tamamı süvarilerden oluşmaz. Bu ünvanı almalarının nedeni, askeri taktiklerinin çoğunlukla hafif süvarileri destekleyecek şekilde kurgulanmış olmasıdır.
Yıllar süren uğraşları sayesinde ulaştıkları politik bağları ve Resurgo Savaşları'nın başlamasıyla elde ettikleri kazançlarının tavan yapmasıyla Lanor Ailesi, hayalini kurduğu krallığını kurma kararı aldı. İlk olarak Gildemar Kabilesi içerisinde bulunan tüm ailelerin topraklarını satın almaya başladılar. Topraklarından vazgeçmeyen aileleri ise Karn Süvarilerini kullanarak yok ettiler. Böylece tüm Gildemar Kabilesi'nin topraklarını tek bir bütün haline getirdiler. Ardından politik bağlarını kullanarak krallık ünvanına ulaşabilmek için büyük bir tören düzenlediler. Bu törende ileri gelen her topluluktan bireyler Gildemar Krallığı'na ve Lanor Ailesi'ne desteklerini sunuyordu. Törenin sonunda Gildemar Krallığı kurulmuş oldu.
Basit bir saltanat yönetimiyle idare edilen Gildemar Krallığı, bu sade sistem içinde benimsediği tek bir ilke sayesinde diğer saltanatlardan ayrılarak öne çıkmıştır. Gildemar Krallığı vatandaşları, bir iş kurma fikrine sahip olduklarında krallığa bağlı bankalardan düşük faizli borçlar alabilmekte, aynı zamanda bu bankalarda görev yapan danışmanlardan girişimlerinin geleceğine dair tavsiyeler alabilirler.
Bu sistem sayesinde Gildemar Krallığı'nda vatandaşlar ile soylular arasındaki statü farkı belirgin ölçüde azalmış, krallık ekonomisine büyük katkılar sağlayabilecek güçlü iş insanları ortaya çıkmıştır. Aynı zamanda bu sistemden yalnızca vatandaşlar değil çoktan ün kazanmış yabancı tüccarlar da yararlanabilir.
Gildemar Krallığı bu sistem aracılığıyla hayali ve vizyonu olanlar için bir başkent haline gelmiştir.
The Gildemar Tribe, which reached its first people near the Tharum Desert, had a different structure compared to normal tribes. The Gildemar Tribe was formed by many different families coming together. Although the families came together to form a tribe, they had no responsibility towards each other. The people the families were responsible for were only those they took into their own lands. The responsibilities of these families as a tribe were to make a common defense in case of possible attacks and not to declare war on other families. Apart from these two points, it was quite normal for each family to look after their own interests.
The methods chosen by the families that made up the Gildemar Tribe to sustain their lives were quite diverse. Thanks to this diversity, families could trade with other families to develop themselves in areas where they were weak. Thanks to this trade that was frequently encountered between families, the Gildemar Tribe was able to develop itself considerably in many areas such as trade logic, trade culture, and debt logic.
The Lanor Family, the most prominent family among the families that made up the Gildemar Tribe, had incredibly large spice fields. These fields contained valuable spices such as black pepper, cinnamon, and ginger, which were quite difficult to grow. The Lanor Family was multiplying the value of their spices by hiding from other families the knowledge of how these spices were grown. However, the Lanor Family's fame was not limited to the Gildemar Tribe. The Lanor Family traveled to other communities kilometers away from their own lands to sell their spices, where they could sell their spices at much higher prices. Not only did they sell, but they also created the impression in people that their spices were sacred things by saying that these spices brought healing.
The Lanor Family had become one of the richest families of the Tribal Period with these commercial methods they adopted.
When the Slavery Period arrived, the Lanor Family was facing a great crisis. With the faiths gaining power, a strong state of fear had spread throughout the world, and they too had their share of this state of fear. The Gildemar Tribe had escaped being a target of the faiths thanks to its geographical location. However, the same was not true for their trade routes. The trade routes that the Lanor Family had worked to make operational throughout the Tribal Period had become quite dangerous due to the faiths increasing their dominance in the world. People were now afraid to use these routes that passed through the lands of the faiths. At the same time, families that had solved the secret of spice farming, just like the Lanor Family, had emerged within the Gildemar Tribe. The Lanor Family had lost both their trade routes that connected them to the outside and the status they had within their own tribe.
The Lanor Family devised a plan that contained vital risks to stop the collapse they were in. Ordelius Lanor, the leader of the Lanor Family at that time, set out saying that he would personally operate this plan he had devised. The place he went to was the Aeterna Faith, which had incredible power at that time. When Ordelius arrived at the lands of the Aeterna Faith, he was taken as a prisoner. However, thanks to the fame the Lanor Family had built during the Tribal Period, he managed to attract the attention of the faith's leaders and gain the opportunity to speak.
Ordelius conveyed the Lanor Family's offer to the leaders of the Aeterna Faith. The Lanor Family said that in exchange for their trade routes being protected by the Aeterna Faith, they would sell them a large amount of spices, considered more valuable than gold, at a very low price. The leaders of the Aeterna Faith accepted this cunning offer and decided to take the Lanor Family's trade routes under their protection.
Ordelius returned profitably from his journey and ordered his family to buy all the harvests of every family in their tribe that grew spices. They began sending all the purchased spices to the Aeterna Faith through the trade routes that were reopened. In exchange for the large amount of spices they sold, they received gold and slaves. The Aeterna Faith had multiplied its wealth by selling the spices it had at a low price to other communities at exorbitant prices. The Lanor Family, on the other hand, had monopolized spice production just as in the Tribal Period by buying the spice fields owned by other families at high prices when they returned to their tribe.
With the Lanor Family taking spice production completely under their control, they reached a fortune large enough to almost establish a kingdom in each harvest period. However, the family was aware that a kingdom could not be built with gold alone. Therefore, they began to use the wealth they possessed as a tool to establish long-term political bonds rather than directly gaining power.
In line with this purpose, the Lanor Family, which devoted years to diplomacy and establishing alliance networks, gradually developed the first banking structure and banking logic in history. Through this system they established, they began to provide financial support to parties in wars that broke out. When the war ended and the winner was determined, instead of receiving the return of the debts they gave as gold or land, they demanded political reputation and political support.
Thus, the Lanor Family laid the political and economic foundation of the kingdom it would establish in the future by gaining the loyalty and support of the communities indebted to them.
Despite the wealth they possessed, the Lanor Family, which did not have a military force capable of protecting this wealth, was aware that they could not form the armies of the kingdom they would establish with mercenaries famous for their betrayals. Therefore, they began a search. This search led them to the Karn Cavalry, who lived in their own geography and had rejected settled life even in the period they were in. These cavalrymen sustained their lives mostly by plundering caravans and settlements belonging to the Lanor Family. However, with the Aeterna Faith taking the trade routes under protection, the Karn Cavalry had begun to starve.
The Lanor Family contacted the Karn Cavalry to use this situation to their advantage. The Karn Cavalry, who had been suffering from hunger for weeks and were therefore moving away from their traditions day by day, accepted the Lanor Family's offer to transition to settled life. Thus, the Gildemar Kingdom, which would be established by the Lanor Family in the future, had the Gildemar Cavalry as its main army units.
The god that the Gildemar Cavalry believes in is Karn, the god of war in Asirun Mythology. This community, which has devoted their lives entirely to him, sustains their existence by constantly dedicating themselves to seeking new victims. The Gildemar Cavalry, which stands out with fear elements arising from their traditions and savagery on the battlefield, has quite unusual rituals. They smear the blood of the people they kill on their ornithors, and decorate their mounts with a disgusting green color formed by the combination of the red of the blood and the yellow feathers of the ornithors. This color is a symbol of both victory and devotion for them.
Despite the word "cavalry" in their name, their entire army does not consist of cavalry. The reason they received this title is that their military tactics are mostly structured to support light cavalry.
With the political bonds they reached thanks to years of effort and their gains reaching their peak with the start of the Resurgo Wars, the Lanor Family decided to establish the kingdom of their dreams. First, they began to buy the lands of all families within the Gildemar Tribe. They destroyed the families who did not give up their lands by using the Karn Cavalry. Thus, they united all the lands of the Gildemar Tribe into a single whole. Then, using their political bonds, they organized a great ceremony to reach the title of kingdom. In this ceremony, individuals from every leading community were offering their support to the Gildemar Kingdom and the Lanor Family. At the end of the ceremony, the Gildemar Kingdom was established.
The Gildemar Kingdom, governed by a simple sultanate system, has distinguished itself from other sultanates by adopting a single principle within this simple system. Citizens of the Gildemar Kingdom, when they have an idea to start a business, can obtain low-interest loans from banks affiliated with the kingdom, and at the same time, they can receive advice from consultants working in these banks about the future of their ventures.
Thanks to this system, the status difference between citizens and nobles in the Gildemar Kingdom has decreased significantly, and strong business people who can make great contributions to the kingdom's economy have emerged. At the same time, not only citizens but also already famous foreign merchants can benefit from this system.
Through this system, the Gildemar Kingdom has become a capital for those with dreams and vision.
